It was none other than Dr KJ Srinivas, India’s High Commissioner in Guyana, Antigua and Barbuda, who waited for over an hour to meet his favorite player, Hardik Pandya. Regarding meeting Hardik, the Indian High Commissioner said, “I met him only as a friend. I had a very good conversation with Hardik for the last few days. I was asking him about his diet plan, how he stays so fit…the conversation started like this and it went on. Hardik also spent a lot of time with Indian High Commissioner Dr. Srinivas and his family and also took selfies.

‘Indian players are loved by the people of West Indies’
Dr Srinivas further said, ‘Cricket is a religion in India as well as in West Indies. When the Indian cricket team came to the West Indies in 2019, there was no match in St Kitts. This time the team has come here. Being the Indian High Commissioner, I hosted Team India. There is a lot of love and affection between us. I saw that Indian cricketers have affection for the people of West Indies and the same sentiment is also in the minds of Caribbean people about Indian players.
