New Delhi. Virat Kohli, one of the best batsmen, got golden duck out against Lucknow Super Giants in the 15th season of IPL (IPL-2022) on Tuesday. Virat, the former captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, got out on his very first ball in the first over of the innings. He was victimized by Sri Lankan pacer Dushmanta Chamira.
Dushmanta Chamira was given the ball by captain KL Rahul for the first over of the innings. Anuj Rawat hit a four on the fourth ball of the over but he was caught by KL Rahul on the very next ball. Then Virat Kohli came out to bat. He was caught by Deepak Hooda on the last ball of the over.
Virat played a shot in the backward point direction but Deepak did not make any mistake in taking the catch. Virat returned to the pavilion without opening the account. 2 wickets fell in this over, making the score 7 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Virat has become the Golden Duck for the fourth time in IPL. He has not been able to contribute much with the bat so far this season.
Virat was dismissed by Ashish Nehra on his very first ball while playing for Mumbai Indians in the year 2008. At the same time, in 2014, pacer Sandeep Sharma also dismissed Virat for a golden duck. In the 2017 season against Kolkata Knight Riders, Nathan Coulter-Nile also did not allow Virat to open the account and made him a golden duck.
