Indian run machine Virat Kohli has returned to his old colors. Royal Challengers Bangalore batsman Kohli played a blistering innings of 73 runs in 54 balls against Gujarat Titans on Thursday. During his innings, he hit eight fours and two sixes. On the strength of Kohli’s innings, Bangalore kept their hopes alive of reaching the playoffs by crushing Gujarat by eight wickets. After his brilliant innings, Kohli has now stopped speaking to critics. His performance is also special because before this match he was struggling with poor form and in the ongoing season he was able to score only twice in 14 matches. After the match, Kohli said that you just have to keep working hard, keep going on your skills.
Virat said after the match, ‘There were a lot of emotions today, I just wanted to walk. Today’s match was important for us. I am happy that I was able to do this today and got two points for my team. You just have to keep the perspective right, you have expectations because you have done so for so many years. You just have to keep working hard, keep working on your skills. Yesterday I spent 90 minutes in the nets, I wanted clarity on every ball. I was relaxed today playing every ball, not thinking what happened till now.
He further said, ‘Why is this happening to me, it happened to me in 2014, I cannot complain. Sometimes I got out of the team and somewhere I won the matches for the team. I just want to put my head down and perform for my team. When I played the first ball to Shami, I thought that today is something, I can play length ball. From the very first shot I knew that today I have to back my shot. This entire IPL, this whole time I have no complaints or regrets. I am very lucky that I have got such fans.
