New Delhi. First match of test series against India and South Africa (IND vs SA 1st Test) is being played in Centurion. Best batsman and captain of Indian test team Virat Kohli (Virat Kohli) got out after scoring 35 runs in the first innings of this match. A big innings was expected from him but he could only score 35 runs in 94 balls with the help of 4 fours. Former Indian pacer on this Ashish Nehra (Ashish Nehra) said that even Virat will be unhappy with his performance.
In the Centurion Test, the second day’s play was washed out due to rain and not a single ball was bowled. India had scored 272 runs for the loss of 3 wickets on the first day. Opener and Vice-Captain KL Rahul (KL Rahul) is playing after scoring 122 runs. Ajinkya Rahane is supporting him, who has scored 40 runs. When in Centurion Test Virat Kohli Came out to bat, when India lost two consecutive wickets. He faced a hat-trick ball from Lungi Ngidi and blocked it. On the first ball of the 43rd over, Kohli hit a four with a cover drive and sent a message that vintage Kohli might be back.
During the next few overs, Kohli judged every ball and treated the bad balls properly. Kohli added 82 runs for the fourth wicket with KL Rahul and then the ball came, which disturbed the concentration of the Indian captain. Virat Kohli tried to play the second ball of the 69th over of the innings in the off-side. The ball was outside the off-stump and he could have easily released it but, he did not do so and the ball reached the hands of Wian Mulder standing in the slips. The wait for Kohli’s 71st international century continued.
Ashish Nehra told Cricbuzz, ‘You expect runs from a player like Kohli. He will be unhappy with his performance but if you look at the statistics, Kohli scored runs in the last series in difficult conditions in England. He has the hunger to score hundreds and double hundreds and he will be a little unhappy with himself.
Nehra further said that the way Kohli got out, it was a bit worrying. He said that Kohli should bowl the ball at the fourth stump, just like Rahul did on the first day. He said, ‘The way he got out, it is a matter of little concern. South African bowlers tend to play loose shots to Kohli and this has been a problem lately. Kohli has been giving wickets to bowlers. In such cases, you need to release those balls..as we saw from KL Rahul.’
