Virender Sehwag claims As captain Sourav Ganguly built a team not sure if Virat Kohli did

Former India batsman Virender Sehwag puts Sourav Ganguly’s leadership above all in terms of captaincy. Virender Sehwag has made a big claim about the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli. The Indian opener says that Virat Kohli may be one of the best as captain, but still he could not build a team like Ganguly.

In the new episode of Sports18, Virender Sehwag said, “Sourav Ganguly made a new team. He brought in new players and supported them through their ups and downs. I doubt whether Kohli did it during his tenure or not. ” The two-time World Cup-winning player says that during Kohli’s captaincy, it was like that for 2-3 years, whether the team won or lost, but after almost every Test, the team changed.

“In my opinion the No. 1 captain is the one who builds the team and gives confidence to his players. He (Kohli) backed some players, some didn’t,” Sehwag said. If statistics are to be believed, Virat Kohli is the biggest Indian captain in terms of wins in Test cricket. He relinquished the captaincy earlier this year.
