BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, ‘I am very happy that he has been appointed as the head coach and NCA chief. Both of these are very important positions in Indian cricket. Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman played together from 1996 to 2008 and were the backbone of the Indian middle order. Asked how difficult it was to persuade both, Ganguly said, “They were told it was important. I am glad that both are ready and they want to do well for Indian cricket.
Laxman will continue Dravid’s work

He said, ‘It was because of Laxman’s commitment that he was selected. It is always wonderful to work with him. Rahul has made a system in the NCA and Laxman will continue that.
Will live in Bangalore with family for 3 years
Sourav Ganguly said that VVS Laxman has given up writing columns for various organizations apart from contracting as a mentor in IPL and commentary for Sunrisers Hyderabad for this position. He said, ‘He is shifting from Hyderabad to Bangalore for the next 3 years, so that he can serve Indian cricket. It is noteworthy that his earnings will be reduced, but in spite of this he has agreed.
