According to the website Inside Sport, a top BCCI official said, ‘We have now played a practice match against Leicestershire on 24 June before the Birmingham Test. Rahul Dravid will leave with the team on June 15 or 16. We will ask VVS Laxman to appear in the India vs South Africa T20 series and the T20 series against Ireland.
Shikhar Dhawan can be made captain
According to the report, senior players can be rested in the home T20 series against South Africa. The selection committee headed by Chetan Sharma would like to give a chance to the youth. Dinesh Karthik and Hardik Pandya can also be given a chance in this series, while veteran Shikhar Dhawan can be given the command of the team. Earlier last year also BCCI had selected two teams. The Indian team will play a 5-match T20 series against the visiting South Africa from June 9.
