WC Qualifier: Defeat before Zimbabwe, then reprimanded by ICC, WI players also loose their pockets, know why?

New Delhi. West Indies had suffered a 35-run defeat at the hands of hosts Zimbabwe in the World Cup qualifiers a day earlier. The Caribbean team had not even recovered from the pain of this defeat that the ICC slapped a huge fine on it. This happened because of the slow over rate. West Indies had bowled 3 overs less in the stipulated time against Zimbabwe. For this reason, the ICC has imposed a fine of 60 percent of the match fee on the West Indies. Captain Shai Hope has also accepted the crime. That’s why there was no separate official hearing in this matter.

Under Section 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for players and support staff, players are fined 20 per cent of their match fees for each over if a team does not complete its quota of overs within the stipulated time. West Indies bowled 3 overs less in the stipulated time in the match against Zimbabwe. For this reason, 60 percent of the match fees of the players were deducted.

West Indies lost the World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe by 35 runs. After scoring 268 runs, Zimbabwe had stopped West Indies for 233 runs. However, even after this defeat, the West Indies have made it to the Super-6 of the World Cup qualifiers. But due to the defeat against Zimbabwe, he lost 2 points.

20 thousand runs… 55 centuries, who will be the new ‘wall’ of Team India? Will the T20 star be able to sail through?

After the Super-6 stage, the top-4 teams will qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup qualifiers. Along with playing the final, the two semi-final winning teams will also qualify for the ODI World Cup to be held in India in October-November this year.
