New Delhi. 29-year-old Jitesh Sharma has presented himself as the best wicket-keeper batsman in the performance of IPL 2023 (IPL-2023). Till now only Rishabh Pant, Ishaan Kishan and Sanju Samson were named as good wicket-keeper batter in T20 cricket, but Jitesh of Vidarbha has also included his name in this list. Jitesh got the ‘reward’ of his brilliant performance in this season of IPL when he was given a place in the Indian T20 cricket team for the Asian Games to be held in China from 23 September.
This is the second time that Jitesh has got a place in the Indian team, earlier this year he was also selected as an alternative to Sanju Samson for the T20 series against Sri Lanka.
‘Keep batting like you are doing’
Recently, Jitesh mentioned the conversation with coach Rahul Dravid in January as a member of Team India. Jitesh told, ‘There is always a discussion on how one can be improved. Yes..when I was selected in the Indian team for the domestic season a few months back when I had a talk with Rahul Sir. According to Jitesh, the coach (Dravid) had told him to keep batting the way you are batting. Team India is looking for a player like him for an important role at number five or six. We need players like this for this position. ‘ The wicket-keeper batsman said, ‘Rahul sir had said, keep doing as you are batting. This is what we are looking for in the future. We are specifically looking for players for certain batting positions (number 5 or 6). ,

With this performance, he was recognized as a lower-order batsman who could quickly increase the team’s score. Jitesh, who plays for Vidarbha in domestic cricket, has so far scored 2096 runs in 90 T20 matches at an average of 29.11, including one century and 9 half-centuries. During this, his strike rate has been 149.07. In 17 first-class matches, Jitesh has 632 runs at an average of 25.28, including four half-centuries.
