New Delhi. Team India has to play 2 World Cup matches next year. The ICC on Wednesday released the schedule of the Under-19 T20 World Cup (U19 men’s cricket world cup 2022). The matches of the tournament will be played in West Indies. A total of 16 teams are participating in it. India and Pakistan have also got a chance. In such a situation, there can be a match between both the teams in the tournament. It is known that T20 World Cup 2022 is also to be held in 2022. Both India and Pakistan have also qualified for Super-12.
According to the information received from the ICC, a total of 16 teams will enter the Under-19 World Cup. 48 matches will be played between them. Team India has got a place in Group B along with South Africa, Ireland and Uganda. On the other hand, Pakistan has been placed in Group-C along with Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea. Bangladesh, England, Canada, UAE have been given place in Group A and West Indies, Australia, Sri Lanka and Scotland have been given place in Group D. The matches of the tournament will be played from January 14 to February 5. India and Pakistan can clash in the knockout rounds.
India has won the title 4 times
The Under-19 World Cup is being played since 1988. Team India has also won the title 4 times. Virat Kohli has also won the title as a captain. So far there have been 13 seasons of the tournament. Australia has also won the World Cup title 3 times, Pakistan twice while Bangladesh, South Africa, West Indies and England have won the World Cup once each. Bangladesh defeated India for the last time in the final of the tournament held in 2020.
