One such anecdote was recently narrated by Virender Sehwag in News18’s program Chaupal, which was related to Sachin Tendulkar. After this incident, Shoaib Akhtar was so scared that he held Sachin’s feet to apologize.
Virender Sehwag narrated this anecdote related to Sachin Tendulkar and Shoaib Akhtar in the Chaupal program of News 18 Hindi. Sehwag said, “We were in Lucknow. Here a program was organized for the cricket team of India and Pakistan. There was also the performance of Shahrukh Khan in it. After the program there was dinner. Akhtar had drunk more in this. After this, Akhtar enthusiastically tried to lift Sachin Tendulkar. But, Akhtar probably did not know that Tendulkar was very heavy. Because he used to carry the hopes of crores of Indians on his shoulders.
Sehwag further said, this was the reason why Shoaib Akhtar could not handle the god of cricket Tendulkar and fell on the ground with him. At that time I was standing nearby. I couldn’t stop laughing.

Shoaib Akhtar was scared of what happened after this incident. Sehwag further said, “After making Sachin fall on the ground, I told Shoaib Akhtar that now your career is over. You have dropped our biggest player Sachin Tendulkar. He has got hurt. Now he will complain to BCCI and then PCB will take action. This scared Shoaib so much that for the next 3-4 days he kept walking back and forth to Sachin and even fell at his feet. Even now when all three of us meet, we laugh a lot remembering this incident.
