Varun Chakraborty and Harshit Rana took wickets at regular intervals
For KKR, Varun Chakraborty (26/3) and Harshit Rana (33/2) prevented Punjab from building big partnerships by taking wickets at regular intervals. Dhawan said after the match, ‘Not feeling well. We lost the match and it was not an easy wicket to bat on and I think we scored well. In the end he played well. Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh had to prevent KKR from scoring six runs in the last over to win. He took the match till the last ball but could not save his team from defeat.

Dhawan played an inning of 57 runs in 47 balls. This was Shikhar Dhawan’s third half-century with the bat in this IPL. Andre Russell, who scored 42 off 23 balls, was adjudged the player of the match.
