The story of Sandeep becoming a cricketer is quite interesting. He made his debut for Nepal at the age of 18. Nepal’s then cricket coach Pubud Dasanayake had an eye on Sandeep when he was 14 years old. Actually, Dasanayake was then going to Chitwan for the marriage of a bowler of the Nepal team. Meanwhile, his car broke down on the way. Where he stayed, Sandeep was seen bowling to him.
The coach saw something different in Sandeep’s bowling. Just from here the luck of this leg-spinner changed. The very next year, he was seen playing against the MCC squad that toured Nepal. From here he got a chance to play in the Hong Kong T20 League. Michael Clarke got an eye on him in this league. Sandeep Lamichhane reached Australia directly from Hong Kong and played club cricket there. After this he did not look back.
