Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Harshal Patel took three wickets against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday and was also adjudged man of the match. Harshal may have spent 35 runs in four overs, but the important wickets of Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Pretorius played a key role in RCB’s victory. Despite the match-winning bowling, Harshal did not seem happy about one thing and also mentioned it after the match.
Harshal said, ‘I think the slower ball that I tried to do in the first over on the wicket, it connected with the batsmen’s bat. I am working on my sequencing. I am happy that I was able to make a comeback. Against both the left-handers, I was asked to bowl wide outside off. You have to be aware of the situation and at the same time know what the batsman is going to do.
Harshal further said, ‘Then you know what you have to do next. I haven’t bowled a yorker so far this season but I hope to do so, by the end of this tournament. RCB beat CSK by 13 runs. After this defeat, it has become very difficult for CSK to reach the playoffs, or to say that almost all their doors of reaching the playoffs have been closed.
