New Delhi. Sunil Gavaskar, the veteran captain of the Indian cricket team, has lashed out at the selectors for Cheteshwar Pujara being dropped from the Test team. Gavaskar says why Pujara was made the scapegoat. He said that the criteria should be the same for everyone to be dropped from the team. India has to play a 2-match Test series on West Indies tour next month. Pujara has not got a place in the 16-member Indian Test team selected for this series. It is believed that Pujara’s international career is almost over.

Sunil Gavaskar said in a conversation with Sports Tak that he is surprised to hear the news of Cheteshwar Pujara being dropped from the team. He said, ‘Why only Pujara was made the scapegoat. What did he do wrong that the rest of the players did not do. Why only he was sacrificed. He does not have such people or his followers who raise slogans from outside when he is out. If there is any criteria to exclude from the team, then it should be for all and not just for one.
