The first Test of the three-match Test series is being played in Galle between Sri Lanka and West Indies. It got painful on the field with Jeremy Solozono playing his first Test match for West Indies. Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karunaratne hit a tremendous shot during the fielding in the helmet of 26-year-old Jeremy Solozono. Jeremy Solozzano was hit with a ball in the helmet while fielding at short leg. After taking off the helmet, he fell on the ground. After this he had to be taken off the field on a stretcher.
Jeremy Solozono was rushed to the hospital by ambulance without delay. This incident happened in the 24th over of Sri Lanka’s innings. Karunaratne’s shot was so strong that the back of the helmet came off after the ball hit the helmet. After Solozono left the field, Shai Hope came out to field in his place. Giving information about his health, the West Indies Cricket Board tweeted that he will be scanned in the hospital. We hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Talking about the Galle Test, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first. Till the time of writing the news, Sri Lanka scored 163 runs in 57 overs for the loss of one wicket. The captain of the host team, Karunaratne is playing after scoring 89 runs. Panthum Nisanka got out after scoring 56 runs. His wicket was taken by Shannon Gabriel.
