Melbourne. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur will be seen playing for Melbourne Renegades in the second season during the 8th season of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) T20 tournament this year. Harmanpreet Kaur, who has represented India in over 200 matches across formats, is an all-rounder and is known for her aggressive batting and effective spin bowling. Harmanpreet, 33, was Renegade’s top scorer and most successful bowler in the tournament last year. Harmanpreet scored 406 runs in the tournament with the help of 18 sixes at an average of 58 and also took 15 wickets.
Harmanpreet Kaur said on the Renegades website, “I am thrilled to be back in the Renegades team. I really enjoyed being a part of the team last season and I think it helped me play some of my best cricket. Personally, I just want to play my part in the team and I am happy that I was able to do so. Batting mainly at number four, Harmanpreet has led Renegades to victory on several occasions in the last season.
ODI team has got command
Harmanpreet Kaur has also got the command of the Indian women’s ODI team after the retirement of Mithali Raj. Under his captaincy, the team is currently on tour of Sri Lanka. The team won the T20 series 2-1. During this, she became the highest run-scorer for India in T20 Internationals. He broke Mithali’s own record. Apart from Mithali and Harmanpreet, Smriti Mandhana has also scored more than 2 thousand runs in T20 Internationals.
Indian women’s team is currently playing ODI series against Sri Lanka. He also got victory in the first match. The team also has to enter the Commonwealth Games.
