Surya scored a century in the third T20 against Sri Lanka
Did not get place in playing eleven in two matches of ODI series
New Delhi. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj tied the heads of the historic victory against Sri Lanka in the third ODI on Sunday. Where Virat and Gill scored centuries in the match, Siraj took 4 wickets for 32 runs in 10 overs and got 1 run out. After a long wait, Suryakumar Yadav also got a place in the playing XI for this match. However, he was able to score only 4 runs. Former cricketer Robin Uthappa has advised Team India regarding the preparations for the ODI World Cup and Surya.
Uthappa believes that Suryakumar Yadav will prove to be the X-factor for India in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Surya is currently in tremendous form. He scored his third T20 century in Rajkot against Sri Lanka. Despite the excellent form, Surya did not get a place in the team in the first two matches of the ODI series. Talking to the media, Robin said that every player of Team India can be an X-factor in the World Cup, but Suryakumar Yadav is at the top of my list. However, he did not get much chance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Uthappa said, I definitely feel that the players who are getting regular chances, they must be really feeling the pressure to keep performing. If he doesn’t perform then Surya can’t be kept out for long. The management should not even keep Sky out of the team now.
‘Sky is batting at a different level’
Uthappa feels that Surya is currently batting at a different level. He said, Surya is a multi-utility player. He is a very good timer of the ball and a match winner. I am extremely happy for Surya as he has worked very hard to reach this point.
