New Delhi. Wrestlers have been protesting against President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for more than a month. The players are adamant on demanding his arrest. He has been accused of sexual exploitation and even an FIR has been registered. Meanwhile, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur invited the wrestlers for discussion. A team led by Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik has reached Sports Minister Anurag Thakur’s house. Earlier in January too, talks were held between the minister and the wrestlers regarding this matter. After the proposal came from Anurag Thakur, Sakshi had said that we will take a decision only after talking to the seniors. Meanwhile, Dronacharya award winning coach Mahavir Singh Phogat while appreciating the move of talks said that he also wants a fair solution to the issue.
Responding to the central government opening the way for talks, Mahavir Singh Phogat told news agency PTI that we also want the solution to be fair. Wrestlers also want the same. Whatever the way, it should be removed. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been accused of sexual harassment by 7 women wrestlers including a minor.

However, he said that no concrete decision will be taken in this mahapanchayat. Mahavir said that no concrete decision has been taken yet, because time has been given till June 9. Only after that a decision will be taken. Regarding the possibility of Vinesh, Sangeeta Phogat and Bajrang joining the mahapanchayat, Mahavir said that he has no information in this regard.
