New Delhi. Brij Bhushan Singh, former head of the national federation, was accused of sexually assaulting minor female wrestlers. After which Jantar-Mantar has been going on for 23 days demanding his arrest. Asian Games gold medalists Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik are continuously fighting a war against arrest in protest. But now this issue has taken a new turn. According to Vinesh Phogat, their protest is being obstructed. Because of which the anger of the wrestlers is rising. The wrestlers have now decided to take this movement to the world level.

Wrestlers alleged that if the arrest of Brij Bhushan Singh is not taken care of, they will contact athletes from other countries. He told that if the arrest is not made, on May 21, he will take this movement to the global level. 2018 Jakarta Asian Games gold medalist Vinesh said, “We will take this exposure to the world level. We will contact Olympians and Olympic medalists from other countries. We will write a letter to them seeking their support.

Some people have obstructed our movement – Vinesh Phogat

Vinesh alleged, ‘Some people have tried to obstruct our performance. Last time this happened when we were bringing beds to the protest site. We are being followed, people are recording and taking pictures. Stopping has not been accepted by us. Some unknown people (women) were also trying to sleep here (inside the tents set up by the wrestlers). At Jantar Mantar, we feel as if we have been confined to a place. Therefore, the more we perform at other places, the better people will understand our position.
