New Delhi. Senior wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has finally got a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). The right-handed batsman had requested the association to give NOC after some dispute between himself and the CAB. He will now be seen playing as a mentor and captain for the Tripura team from the next season in domestic cricket.
CAB joint secretary Devvrat Das had earlier questioned Saha’s commitment to state cricket. Later, Saha expressed his displeasure over this saying that he played for this state for so many years and despite giving his best, the officials were making such a statement.
Giving them NOC on Saturday, the CAB said in a statement, “Wriddhiman Saha came to the CAB and in an application to President Avishek Dalmiya had sought NOC from the association. The CAB agreed to Saha’s request and gave him a no-objection certificate to play for another state. CAB wishes Saha all the best for his future.
Saha was reportedly in talks with some other cricket boards, including the Gujarat and Baroda Cricket Associations, after the dispute with the CAB. However, both the unions denied this. Finally talks have been made with Tripura Cricket Association and now he will serve for this team.
