Labushen’s bat did not work in the Test series in India.
New Delhi. Team India has been looking for the ICC trophy for the last 10 years. Now this year the Indian team has more than one chance. Only a few hours are left for the wait for the first chance to end. Rohit Sharma & Co. will challenge Australia in the World Test Championship Final (WTC Final) on 7th June. Facing Australia outside the house will be like climbing a mountain for the Indian team. A day before the final, Australia’s star batsman Marnus Labushen has taken the responsibility of scoring runs on his shoulders.
Marnus Labushen will prove to be no less than a wall for Team India. On one hand, some Australian batsmen were enjoying the IPL. On the other hand, Labushen was seen sweating in county cricket. Labushen scored 504 runs in 8 innings with the help of 2 centuries. The in-form batsman has taken the responsibility of scoring runs in the final. He told, ‘I am coming back (in domestic cricket) for five years now. It is part of my normal routine of coming here. I love playing county cricket, love the team of Glamorgan, I enjoy it very much.
It was my responsibility to score runs in the Ashes – Marnus Labuschagne
Labushen told the ICC, ‘It was my responsibility to score runs while batting at number 3 in Ashes 2019. I didn’t score runs. For this the team management will find someone else to do my job. It is about finding ways to score runs and contribute as much as possible for the teams. Naturally whoever is batting at number-3 for Australia, it will be his responsibility.
Why did Virender Sehwag do this during WC 2007?
‘We played for India only 2 months back’
Marnus Labushen further said, ‘We played against India only two months ago. So we are very clear on that in terms of seeing them and knowing their actions. With Dukes ball in hand, they (Indian fast bowlers) will be able to showcase their skills more.
