Yash Dhull Sets Himself 18 month Target To Play For Team India

New Delhi. Under-19 World Cup (Under 19 World Cup) Yash Dhul, captain of the winning Indian cricket team (Yash Dhull) His dream is to make a place in the senior team in the next 18 months. He doesn’t even remember how many planes Dhul changed in order to join the state team after reaching India from West Indies and then going to Ahmedabad for the felicitation ceremony in the last two days after becoming the world champion. Dhul, who was away from his family for two months while fulfilling his dream of becoming a world champion, got only half an hour to meet his parents.

After reaching Delhi in the early hours of Thursday, Yash Dhul reached his school Bal Bhavan where he met people who had helped him become a successful cricketer. After two hours, he was to leave for Guwahati with the Ranji team. Between school and the airport, Dhul only got time to bathe and get ready in his house. After winning the World Cup, Dhul has not even got time to sleep properly. He said, “I have barely been able to complete my sleep for the last few days. However, there is nothing in this about which I can complain. What I have done so far has passed. Now I need to focus on what the near future holds.

Most of the cricketers of the Under-19 World Cup are not known to get representation in the national team but Dhul has prepared his target. He wants to make a place in the national team in the next 18 months. He said, “This is my goal, even if I am not able to do it in the time limit of 18 months, I will keep working hard till achieving my goal.” He is the third captain of Delhi to win. While Kohli touched the pinnacle of success after this feat, Chand’s career graph could not progress much.

When Yash Dhul was asked if there is a fear of failure at the top level after World Cup success, he said, “The names (Kohli and Chand) you have taken, I am not thinking anything like that. I want to be humble and don’t want to think too much about the future.” He said, “Virat bhai shared his experience with me about what happened to him after the Under-19 World Cup (2008). Kohli, however, played Ranji Trophy with the Under-19 team before winning the World Cup. But Dhul has not played red-ball cricket yet even at the Under-19 level. Dhul believes that he is ready for this change.

Yash Dhul said, “I have to change my mindset for the red ball game, preparation will be a little different. I don’t think it will be much different and tougher than the white ball. The red ball does a little more movement in the beginning but after spending some time it becomes easier to bat. It is in the aftermath of mindset and physical fitness. During the Indian team’s campaign, Dhul was in isolation for seven days after being infected with Kovid-19. It was disappointing for him but the words of National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief VVS Laxman encouraged him.
