Yashasvi Jaiswal became the 306th Indian to play in a Test match. Against the West Indies, he was selected by the selectors in the team by excluding veterans like Cheteshwar Pujara. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a blistering century in the first innings of the debut Test match itself. The young man, who opened the account by hitting a four on the 16th ball, played 104 balls and completed Fifty with the help of 7 fours. Even after completing fifty runs, Yashasvi did not make many changes in his game. Till lunch, the young opener was scoring 62 runs. -AP

Yashasvi Jaiswal became just the third player to score a century in a debut match while opening for India. Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw had scored centuries while making their Test debut. Dhawan played an inning of 187 against Australia in the year 2013. Prithvi Shaw scored a century in 2018 while making his debut against the West Indies.-AP
