Presenting a unique example of its preparations in the T20 World Cup, the Indian team has beaten strong teams like England and Australia in the practice matches. The team now has to play in its debut match against arch-rivals Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai. Before this match, Dhanshree Verma, wife of star leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, has cheered Team India through a dance video. He has shared this video on his Instagram account.
In its caption, she wrote, ‘I am showing my game through dance as soon as the World Cup season starts. How are you cheering Team India. However, in this T20 World Cup, Dhanashree will not be able to cheer her husband Chahal on the field, as he has not been included in the team for this tournament. The selectors expressed confidence in Rahul Chahar in his place. Chahal performed brilliantly in the second phase of IPL 2021 held in UAE. After this it was expected that the selectors could give Chahal a chance, but it could not happen.
When Chahal did not get a chance in the World Cup team, Dhanashree shared an emotional post, in which he wrote, ‘Mother says … that this time too has to pass. Live with your head raised because skill and good deeds always accompany you. So the matter is such that this time too has to pass. God is great.’ On not including Chahal in the team, Chief Selector Chetan Sharma had said that we wanted spinners who bowl a little faster, so we included Rahul Chahar in the team.
