The second match of the ongoing three-match T20 series between India and New Zealand was played on January 29 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. In this low-scoring match, the Indian team won by six wickets with just one ball remaining. The hero of the match was the evergreen batsman Suryakumar Yadav. Batting on the fourth order for the team, he played a fighting important inning of 26 runs in 31 balls with the help of a four. Yadav was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for this fine innings.

During the match, Yuzvendra Chahal achieved a special achievement. He has become the first bowler for the Indian team to take the most wickets in T20 International cricket. Earlier, he was joint first with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. But now he has secured the first position leaving Bhubaneswar behind.
