New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s T20 star Suryakumar Yadav would never want to miss the ODI series against Australia. He could not open an account in any match of the 3-match series. After returning after being dismissed on the first ball, such an embarrassing record was added to his name that no batsman in the world would like to remember. Before Suryakumar Yadav, no Indian batsman ever returned without opening an account in three consecutive matches.
The ODI series between India and Australia turned out to be a nightmare for Suryakumar Yadav. Every match from here on is very important to make a place in the probable team before the ICC World Cup. In such a situation, Suryakumar Yadav, who spread his fire in T20, missed a great opportunity. Due to the injury of Shreyas Iyer, he was given a place in the playing eleven. In three consecutive matches, Suryakumar missed this opportunity that came his way.

Indian team’s T20 star Suryakumar Yadav returned without opening an account on the first ball in three consecutive matches of the ODI series. In the first ODI played in Mumbai, Suryakumar Yadav was sent back lbw by Mitchell Starc on the first ball. Even in Visakhapatnam ODI, Stark showed action replay against Suryakumar Yadav and lost the wicket for zero. In the third ODI played in Chennai, Suryakumar Yadav was clean bowled by Ashton Agar and forced to go back to zero.
Record of three consecutive zeros
Among the Indian players, in the name of Sachin Tendulkar, in 1994, he has been dismissed for zero three times in a row. On the other hand, after Anil Kumble (1996), Zaheer Khan (2003), Ishant Sharma (2011), Jaspreet Bumrah (2017), now Suryakumar Yadav (2023) was also dismissed thrice in ODIs. By the way, Surya is the first Indian to make this embarrassing record in a single series.
