The Afghanistan cricket team is on a tour of Zimbabwe these days. Afghanistan has made a clean sweep in the three-match ODI series. The last match of the series between the two was played on Thursday at the Harare Sports Club ground. Batting first, Zimbabwe were reduced to 135 runs in 44.5 overs, in reply, Afghanistan scored 137 runs for the loss of six wickets in 37.4 overs to capture the match as well as the series. Both the Man of the Match and Man of the Series awards went to Rashid Khan.
In this match, Rashid Khan took three wickets for 31 runs in 7.5 overs, while Mohammad Nabi took two wickets for 21 runs in 8 overs. At the same time, Fazlhaq Farooqui also took two wickets in his name. Chasing a small target, Afghanistan’s innings faltered, but captain Hashmatullah Shahidi and Mohammad Nabi put together a tough fight to take the team closer to victory.
Hashmatullah was dismissed for 38, while Mohammad Nabi returned not out after scoring 34 runs. Rashid Khan returned not out after scoring six runs. In this series, Rashid Khan scored a total of 45 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 225 and took seven wickets.
