David Warner: Australia’s legendary batsman David Warner is continuously demanding the lifting of the ban on captaincy and now he has given a scathing statement. Warner has said that he is not a criminal and he should get the right to appeal. Cricket Australia did not even give him the right to appeal after Warner was banned from the captaincy in 2018. However, now he has been given this right and his appeal can be reviewed soon. Warner had requested about it only nine months ago, but it has been dragged for a long time.
Warner said,It has dragged on and it has been very painful for me and my family. I think its just a matter of being honest because I am not a criminal. After coming to a stage, you should get the right to appeal. I understand they banned me, but banning someone for life is a big decision. This is my chance to come forward and say that I have moved on. I have given my time to get into the setup of Australian cricket.,
Warner was banned in ball tampering case
In 2018, the Australian team was found guilty of ball-tampering on the tour of South Africa. Cameron Bancroft tampered with the ball with sandpaper and was caught on camera. When the matter was investigated, team captain Steve Smith and Warner were also found involved in it. Warner and Smith were banned from playing cricket for one year and Warner was also banned from captaincy for life. Smith has also captained Australia after returning from the ban, but Warner has not got this chance yet.
